It is a manual coffeemaker which uses a cylindrical chamber and plunger mechanism, like a syringe, to produce espresso-style coffee. Ground coffee and water are brewed inside and then forced through a filter to produce coffee.

Versions of preparing coffee with AeroPress

There are a few variables that can alter the type of coffee produced by an AeroPress, so you can switch up the type of coffee drink you make.

For example, by using a metal filter instead of a paper filter, it allows the oils to pass through for a more full-bodied cup of coffee. The paper filter keeps out the oils, creating a  ‘cleaner’ flavour profile.
